Finally good waves

As good as this weekend was.
I have next to no shots to show for it.
This weekend was full of the worst string of events for me.
Started off on friday night driving down on the new highway and getting flashed doing 108km/h 5 meters before a 110km/h sign.
Saturday woke up to a pumping box so i geared up as fast as i could.
Got into the water paddled out and thought i might be able to shoot the inside for a bit as there wernt many west sets coming through.
Third wave out there was a massive west set.
As i sat there pondering what to do i see Hardy and Thorpe gun it for the safety of the channel.
This 5 foot wall of water continued to suck water rapidly from the reef i was now knee deep on top of.
The next 5 seconds seemed to take for ever as i bailed my board held my housing and hugged the first bit of reef my hands touched.
As the set broke on my head the shockwave ripped me from the reef throwing me around like a rag doll only stopping to bounce me off the next bit of reef.
Stripping my fin off i was moving so fast through the water feet first my ankle went straight into a nice chunk of reef tearing holes and slicing it up.
i surface from the water a wave later sitting on an exposed nigerhead to find the housing of my handle had snapped at the bottom.
Ending in the emergency room at margs hospital.
Later that day i went to the purvis's house to watch my boys down the cats in possibly the best game of football i have every watched.
I came away bitter, almost in tears.
After that all i wanted was for this day to be over.
We had an early night and were up early to head to mufflers.
missing the turn for the first path sent me on this rabbit track that would link us up to the other path(should of turned around)
about 1k down this track we his a dead end for my car.
The housings of scratches i now have on my new car discust's me.
Turned around and took the other track.
We were amped to find only jake stone and Nick out.
I shot 400 from the rocks and soon after i set up mitch rawlins and tom hannam rocked up.
Not long after Chris "im neging out thismorning" Gurney, alex halsey and ryan donovan rocked up to add to the crowd.
i filled my card up and went to chuck it on the laptop to find my new lens that i bought 2 days ago doesnt focus rite on my camera.
Every shot i had from that weekend was now a waste of time.
I was so filthy towards this weekend i just wanted to head home.
On the way home i thought me might get a small medge on low tide.
So i flagged the new highway and went through mandurah with speed limits of 70km/h
It was flat as a tack.
We decided to head to pengoes, possibly the only thing that will ever make the shittest day epic in my life.
Just out of mandurah when im doing 100km/h and *flash*.
The dirty fucking pigs, i hate you so much.
Now there is an extremely high possibility that i have lst my license, therefore my job and my car.
Yeah its fucked.
Anyway pengoes was pretty shallow and dry but as the tide picked up a few fun ones rolled through.
Headed home checked the shots again.
Took 2 shots away from the weekend.
Which was a letdown because everyone was ripping.
Anyway here they are, Two slow shutter shots of jake stone at mufflers

When will it end?

Photobucket
For the last 4 months, intense low pressure systems have been hitting the South West coastline non stop.
I think i could count on 2 hands the ammount of 'good' days we have had this winter.
due to the shit winds during the day and everyone discovering that cott gets fun on days like this
we have been forced to grovel at night at a dim light breakwall.
Which happens to be a left......and i fucking hate lefts.

So Spring. SORT YOUR SHIT OUT.

Change of Seasons, Change of Setting

Spring has bought a big change for us all..........
Normally i picture pring as been sunny and warm.
Winter has not ended and does not look like it ever will.

The other day i got my new fisheye set up, Thanks to Gurney.
With a few good days here and there, trying to mix work with shooting is impossible.
So I've been shooting alot of skate the past week and a bit.
Shooting skate is so much different to surf, been able to control the subjects around you and using lighting is probly the best 2 things about it.
Heres some of the stuff from a shoot we did at Curtin Uni a week ago.

Peace.
